    1. request a guarantee letter from your company and indicate the travel dates and destination, then submit to dost who will then give the temporary clearance. based from my experience here though it was still 2010, hope this helps.

  4. i was able to go out of the country last year (aug '12 - taiwan, oct '12 - japan) for business trip. i secured temporary clearance for tw trip but immigration did not ask for it. japan trip was urgent so i was not able to secure clearance, i emailed immigration though and received confirmation that i have no derogatory records, thats i had with me, still nobody asked for it at the airport
im going back to japan again in two weeks, i will try to secure final clearance since i have rendered 5 years of service here already and at the same time i will send an email to immigration again (in case i could not secure final clearance immediately) to confirm no i have no derogatory record

  6. tanong lang po. marami na po bang nakatravel abroad na scholars who still have obligation to the DOST? if marami na po.does this mean na totally erased na po yung names natin sa BI? pati rin bah sa NBI?

  7. concern lang po. i have scheduled trip to hongkong next year with the whole family. apparently for the kids!. and i have booked tickets already. im here in cebu. so worried ako na baka maharang or ma delay ako sa immigration.
i still have contract with the DOST. d na ako kailangan pumunta dyan sa manila para magkuha ng clearance? d ba ako makakaproblema pa sa DOST watchlist?

    worried lang po talaga...

  8. I have not started with my return service yet and I was able to leave the country for a 2-year contract abroad. I informed DOST of my plans and when I will be coming back. They were very cooperative and very supportive to defer the schedule of return service. I did not secure any clearance from Immigration anymore. DOST mentioned that it is not necessary to go to the immigration but they did not say that the ban was already lifted. The immigration officer at the airport just asked me when was the last time I was out of the country and that's it... she just wished me a safe trip. Just please remember, the hard earned money of the Filipino people provided for our education... I hope we do not turn our backs from our responsibility and give our heart and service back to our country.
